Since 2019, The Family History Guide Association has offered a great family history resource as a companion to the Come, Follow Me class curriculum. For each weekly lesson, they have compiled additional readings, videos and activities that are family history oriented and complement the assigned scripture reading for the week.

This year, in Come, Follow Me, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are reading and studying The Book of Mormon. The reading for the first week of this new year includes the introduction to the Book of Mormon, The Testimony of Three Witnesses and The Testimony of Eight Witnesses. The Family History Guide’s companion to Come, Follow Me adds a family history focus to this reading by encouraging members to record their testimonies of The Book of Mormon and find ways to preserve and share it. There are links to talks, videos and tutorials from FamilySearch and The Family History Guide to help members accomplish this.

It is impressive how many family history activities are packed into this companion to Come, Follow Me. For anyone who has the goal of doing more family history this year, The Family History Guide provides everything needed to accomplish this week by week while following the Come, Follow Me curriculum. Studying the Book of Mormon this year can be greatly enhanced with this excellent family history tool.
