There is no denying that technology has had a huge impact on every industry, and genealogy is no exception. In the last 100 years, we have gone from recording things with pen and paper to digitizing and making millions of books and records searchable, being able to capture photos and videos at a moment’s notice and being able to share them with everyone in the world just as fast. We have computers that use predictive and artificial intelligence to match records with our family trees making genealogical research sometimes feel like a thing of the past. And most of all, this can all fit in our pocket in the form of a smart phone.
However, with all this innovation, we will never be able to remove the human element from Family History, nor do we want to. It is critical that we pour our hearts and souls into this work. Not just because we have been called and commanded to, but because it is what will save us all. –Jason McDaniel
