It seems like just when restrictions associated with COVID 19 were beginning to ease, and we were beginning to hope that our communities, churches, and country would open up again, more cases have been diagnosed and we have been cautioned to continue with social distancing. While I was looking forward to having the Granite Family History Center open once again and to have access to resources, both technological and human to help me as I work on my family history, I am grateful that there are other resources available to help me work on my family history.
In a Family Search blog post written by, Diane Sagers called: Online Genealogy Consultations with Family History Library Experts, she shared how anyone, worldwide, who needs help can receive assistance available through FamilySearch.org, regardless of location or research question. You can receive help by scheduling one-on-one online consultations, with experts from the Family History Library. Genealogical specialists can talk with guests in English and Spanish and will soon be available in other languages as well.
You can receive help in the following areas:
- Online genealogy help for several countries
- Help navigating Online Resources
- Help accessing specific research groups
- Assistance in learning how to do family history research
Using the FamilySearch Research Wiki, guests can schedule specific time slots in English or Spanish for their 20-minute online consultation.
If you’re feeling stuck and need some direction in your research, or need help that you haven’t been able to find during this time of social isolation, here’s a chance to get the individual help you need. –Elaine Hardman
Hi. Your post-mortem photography article (https://www.granitefhc.com/post-mortem-photography/) opens with the photo of a supposedly dead man. He was not dead! That man was Lewis Carroll, author of Alice in Wonderland, and he was alive when this photo was taken.
Good to know! Thanks for sharing.
