RootsTech 2018

Are you preparing to attend RootsTech 2018? If you haven’t considered attending, you might want to rethink that decision. As of December 2017, all of the keynote speakers have been announced. Thursday’s keynote speaker is Scott Hamilton of Olympic gold ice skating fame. Hamilton is known as the eternal optimist, having combated cancer after losing his mother to cancer.

Friday’s keynote speaker is Brandon Stanton, creator of “Humans in New York,” a popular weekly Facebook series. He has used the storytelling power of his site to raise money for several life-changing altruistic purposes. He is also the author of two #1 New York Times bestsellers.

Saturday’s keynote speaker is Henry Louis Gates, Jr. He is one of America’s top scholars of African-American literature and African diasporic studies. You may be more familiar with his PBS television series, “Finding Your Roots.”

Also scheduled to speak on Saturday is Natalia Lafourcade, nationally recognized artist. She has won Grammy awards and MTV Latino awards. Most recently she teamed with Miguel to sing “Remember Me” from Coco.

Family Discovery Day’s keynote speakers will be Elder and Sister Dallin H. Oaks.

Visit the RootsTech website to see just how affordable your experience can be. Passes start at just $69, and there are tracks available for any level of family history expertise.
